Christmas is just around the corner as they say. But then, Christmas will not be celebrated in 2 towns in my province, Mindanao. Cagayan de Oro and Iligan were both stricken by flashfloods. Imagine a month’s worth of rain pouring in 10 hours or so, in the middle of the night. Where will someone go?
That is exactly what happened to my kababayans down there. In the middle of the night, while most are already asleep. They were never prepared for what is to come. While I was with my family, relaxing, sleeping, I never knew they were already struggling for their dear lives. And as of the moment, roughly 1000 people were already dead. Worse than typhoons Ondoy and Kiel. Sendong brought in rains that caused flashfloods that killed several hundred people. They need help right now.
I am urging people to donate, to help, to reach out, to pray.
